Industrial washing cleans machined parts before the next operation. It removes machining oil, metal chips, grinding dust and residue left by earlier steps.
This is not cosmetic. It is a technical condition.
When it becomes mandatory
Parts go through casting, stamping, machining or welding. Each of these leaves residue. If the part moves on dirty, the next operation suffers.
Before painting. A film of oil on the surface stops the paint from bonding. The coating flakes, and the defect shows up only after delivery.
Before assembly. Metal chips left in channels or bores end up inside the finished mechanism. In a hydraulic assembly or a bearing, one chip means scrap.
Before shipping. The customer receives a clean part, with no oil marks on the packaging.

Do you actually need a separate washing machine?
Not always. This is where the common mistake happens.
Vibratory finishing washes the parts itself. The compound circulating through the bowl is not just a lubricant. It carries away the particles removed from the part and from the media, cleans the part surfaces, degreases them, and provides corrosion protection during and after processing.
In other words: if the part goes through vibratory finishing anyway, it comes out both finished and clean.
A dedicated washing machine becomes necessary when the part does not go through vibratory finishing, when contamination exceeds what the compound can handle, or when the next process demands a higher level of cleanliness than the bowl delivers.
The practical rule: do not buy two machines to do one job. Start from the part and from what comes after it.
